Two weeks. Somehow it’s already been two weeks since we opened the gates at Dennington Farms, and I honestly don’t even know where to start other than THANK YOU.
To our incredible food trucks, vendors, musicians, staff, neighbors, friends, families, and every single person who has come out, shared a post, told a friend, brought their kids, grabbed a cold drink, stayed for the music, or simply cheered us on, your support has meant more than we can possibly say.
It really does take a village, and ours has shown up in ways that have genuinely touched my heart.
In just two weeks, Mother Nature has apparently decided to personally test our commitment. We’ve had dust storms, crazy wind, torrential rain, lightning, blazing Texas heat, canopies trying to relocate themselves, electrical hiccups, slow nights, busy nights, last-minute changes, and more than a few moments where we looked at each other and said, “You cannot make this stuff up.”
And through all of it, people kept showing up.
Our food trucks have rolled with the chaos and took bookings last minute. Musicians have stepped in for each other. Vendors have braved the weather, shown up every single day, and basically became our marketing department. Staff have worked their tails off. Neighbors have helped. Friends have jumped in wherever needed. Kids have played football in the rain, gotten lost in the hay maze, and somehow had the time of their lives while the adults tried to pretend everything was completely under control.
We are learning every single weekend. We’re fixing things, improving things, adding things, and figuring out what Dennington Farms is going to become.
What started as an idea is slowly turning into exactly what we hoped for. A place where families can gather, kids can run, people can eat good food, listen to great music, have a cold drink, slow down for a little while, and just enjoy being together.
We are so grateful to everyone who has believed in this little place from the beginning and supported us through the beautiful parts and the messy parts.
Here’s to the first two weeks, and whatever the next two decide to throw at us.
We can’t wait to see you back at the farm.
