🍎🥒 Another GREAT Week in Granbury ISD Child Nutrition! 🍐🍊

We had another wonderful week in Granbury ISD Child Nutrition as we hosted a Farmers Market at Baccus Elementary in partnership with our food distributor, Labatt! 🛒🌟

Our students had the opportunity to sample some delicious fresh produce, including:

🍎 Rocket Apples
🍐 Red Pears
🍊 Texas-Grown Oranges
🥒 Texas-Grown Cucumbers

And the star of the show? The RED PEARS! 🍐❤️ They seemed to be the students’ favorite!

We were also excited to welcome our special guest, Catherine Wright-Stelle from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), who joined us to help with the market and make the experience even more special.

We love creating fun opportunities for our students to try new foods, discover fresh flavors, and learn more about the fruits and vegetables that help fuel their growing minds and bodies! 💜💛

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our Farmers Market such a success! Seeing our students excited to taste something new is what makes these experiences so rewarding. 🏴‍☠️🍎

🥬🌱 Growing Knowledge, One Leaf at a Time! 🌱🥬
We were excited to welcome a special guest from TrueHarvest Farms in Belton, Texas, who visited one of our Granbury ISD Agriculture classes to share all about the amazing world of hydroponic lettuce! 🌿
Students had the opportunity to learn how hydroponics works and how fresh produce can be grown using innovative farming methods.
The best part? This is the same delicious lettuce that we serve every day on our hamburger and pizza line at Granbury High School! 🍔🍕🥬
It's a great reminder that agriculture is all around us, even in our school cafeterias! We're proud to connect classroom learning with the fresh foods our students enjoy every day.

🌾🍎 Granbury ISD Child Nutrition is going FARM FRESH! 🍎🌾
This October, Granbury ISD Child Nutrition is excited to participate in the Texas Department of Agriculture’s 2026 Farm Fresh Challenge! 🤠🥕🍅
Throughout the month, we’ll be celebrating Texas-grown and Texas-raised foods, connecting our students with agriculture and nutrition education, and highlighting the local farmers, producers, and partnerships that help bring fresh food to our students’ tables. 🌱❤️
And we’re not just participating—we’re going for the top tier! 🏆
