Beginning the process of our sunflower seed harvesting . Did not have a great year this year with the sunflowers due to being in and out of the NICU with Yori but was able to get quite a few seeds for next year's plan and of course the chickens enjoyed their snacks

๐ŸฎHelp Us Keep Our Communityโ€™s Cats Safe, Healthy, and Loved!๐Ÿฎ ๐Ÿฑ๐ŸŒพ

At MadHouse Farm
family and community mean everything to us. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re reaching out to ask for your help with a challenge affecting so many neighborhoods and family farms in our area.

Every year, local farms become dumping grounds for unwanted cats and unexpected litters when families simply can't afford the rising costs of spay and neuter procedures. While we do everything in our power to step up and care for these animals, the sudden influx puts a heavy burden on farm families. Uncontrolled breeding leads to overcrowded stray populations, preventable illness, and innocent kittens without homes. ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿพ

We want to break this cycleโ€”and you can help right from your own home!

๐Ÿฅซ๐Ÿฅค We are collecting your unwanted pop cans! ๐Ÿพ If you have cans cluttering up your garage, shed, or porch, don't worry about taking them to the store. Let us turn them into direct funding for local feline spay and neuter appointments!

**How your pop cans help:**

* **Prevents Animal Dumping:** Helps struggling owners afford spay/neuter services before felt forced to surrender or drop off pets.
* **Stops the Spread of Illness:** Reduces overcrowded stray colonies and keeps disease from spreading among local felines.
* **Supports Rescue & Adoption:** Covers basic medical care for new intakes and fosters at the farm so they can find loving homes.

**We make it easy:** We will gladly pick up your cans directly from your home or set up a local meeting spot.

It takes a village to care for our local animals, and we cannot thank our incredible community enough for your continued love and support. If you have cans to donate, please drop a comment below or send us a direct message, and weโ€™ll schedule a pickup!

๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ‘ REMINDER ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ‘

At MadHouse Farm, shearing is not just a jobโ€”it is our passion, our livelihood, and a specialized trade dedicated to the health and welfare of your livestock. To ensure a safe, efficient, and professional experience for both our team and your animals, we are reiterating our standard operational policies and expectations for all current and perspective clients.

๐Ÿ‘Scheduling, Route Additions, and Delays
Route Integrity: We meticulously plan our travel routes across Michigan and out-of-state to accommodate as many farms as possible. Clients requesting last-minute additions to closed routes disrupt schedules for surrounding farms and will incur an emergency scheduling fee.

๐Ÿ›ปTravel Realities: Transit delays due to traffic or weather are sometimes unavoidable. We request patience as we navigate long-distance travel to reach your facility.

๐Ÿฆ™โœ‚๏ธAnimal Preparedness & Site Readiness
Catching & Handling: Animals must be securely penned and caught prior to our arrival, and the owner or a designated handler must be on-site. If our team is required to catch or herd unprepared animals, a $15 per head fee will be added to the invoice.

๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ‘Moisture Protocol We maintain a strict policy against shearing wet wool or fiber. Shearing wet fleece damages equipment and poses severe health risks to livestock, including conditions related to bacterial proliferation (such as moisture-induced pelt damage and elevated disease exposure).
Rescheduling & Cancellation Fees: If we arrive and animals are wet, the appointment will be immediately canceled and subject to a mandatory rescheduling fee. If a return visit is scheduled and animals remain unprepared or wet, the full service fee remains due immediately and will not be applied to future bookings.

๐Ÿ’ต๐ŸPricing, Payments, and Professional Respect
Fixed Rates: Our service fees and deposit requirements are firm and non-negotiable. We do not engage in price haggling or competitive rate matching.

๐Ÿ’ณPayment Methods: Full payment is required on the day of service via Cash, Venmo, or Cash App. We no longer accept personal checks.

Mutual Respect: Clear, respectful communication is required. Attempts to short payment, verbal hostility, or repeated non-compliance with herd prep guidelines will result in immediate termination of services and permanent refusal of future bookings.

๐Ÿ’ปOwner Responsibility & Veterinary Care
Livestock Education: Proper husbandry, weather monitoring, and breed-specific research are the fundamental responsibilities of the livestock owner.

๐ŸฉบVeterinary Scope: While our extensive experience allows us to offer practical guidance on fleece and herd management, our team does not provide veterinary medical advice. Owners must maintain an established relationship with a licensed veterinarian for medical needs.

We deeply appreciate our many wonderful clients who maintain high standards of animal care, respect our time, and partner with us to keep this vital trade alive. Clear boundaries allow us to deliver the highest quality care to your livestock. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

# # ๐Ÿ“ข Important Reminder: Preparing for Scheduled Farm Calls

Dear Clients and Friends,

As we strive to provide the highest level of care and service to all of our community's animals, we want to share a quick reminder regarding our scheduled farm visits.

To help us stay on track and ensure every animal gets the dedicated time they deserve, we kindly ask for your partnership in being fully prepared for our arrival.

---

# # # ๐Ÿ•’ The Ripple Effect of Schedule Delays

Our daily schedule is carefully timed so we can reach every farm when promised. When a visit is delayed, it creates a domino effect that pushes back appointments for the rest of the day.

To keep things running smoothly, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

* **Be Present and Available:** Please ensure you, or a designated handler who can make decisions on your behalf, are at the farm and ready to meet us at the scheduled time.
* **Have Animals Caught and Secured:** Please have all animals haltered, penned, stalled, or otherwise secured **before** our arrival time. Spending valuable appointment time trying to catch animals in a pasture puts us significantly behind schedule.
* **Keep Communication Lines Open:** If you see us pull up, or if we are trying to reach you to confirm we have arrived, please answer your phone or meet us at the gate.

> **A Quick Note on Missed Calls:**
> While we understand that farm life is unpredictable, repeatedly showing up to a farm call only to find no one home, or being unable to locate the client or animals, severely impacts our ability to serve others. Going forward, appointments where the client is unprepared or unavailable may need to be rescheduled, and a call-out fee may still apply.

---

# # # Thank You for Your Cooperation!

We truly appreciate your understanding and support in helping us keep our visits efficient, safe, and on time. By working together, we can ensure every animal gets the prompt and focused care they need.

If you have any questions or need to adjust an upcoming appointment, please reach out to us as early as possible! - MadHouse Farm ๐Ÿšœ
