Thank you all for your patience while my rabbits decided to… absolutely not cooperate 😅
We may finally have a successful pairing, so I’m hopeful we’ll have babies to share with you soon

Let’s talk about beneficial bugs for a second…
Everyone wants to know how to get rid of aphids.
But what if they’re not actually the problem?
Aphids aren’t an invasion—they’re an invitation.
They show up as part of the system, and more importantly… they’re food. No aphids = no ladybugs, lacewings, or other natural pest control.
In a regenerative garden, we don’t just react—we observe.
So before spraying, ask:
What is my garden trying to tell me? 🌱

With heat waves coming this summer, I’m doing a few simple things to help my trees survive the high desert heat.

First, I dig a shallow channel or basin around the tree so when I water, it pools instead of running off. This lets the water slowly soak deep into the soil where the roots actually need it.

Next, I add rabbit manure and organic matter around the base. Rabbit manure is a gentle fertilizer, and the plant material feeds the soil life while slowly breaking down into nutrients.

Finally, I cover everything with a thick layer of woodchip mulch. The mulch keeps the root zone cooler, reduces evaporation, and helps the soil hold moisture longer.

Healthy soil and good water retention make a huge difference when the temperatures spike. A little preparation now can help trees stay resilient all summer.

I live in a desert, and I thought dry hard lifeless dirt was just a fact of life... luckily I was wrong! and now I have living water retaining soil. My yard attracts birds like the golden finch, 6 kinds of bees, and holds water better and longer reducing my water bill. It also increases my enjoyment of my yard.
