LOW WINE ALERT!!!
We are down to less than 8 cases each of these three wines. So if one of these is your favorite, you’d better come stock up before they are no more.
Wedding Day Rosé 2023- this dry rosé of Merlot is complex, savory and full of mellow strawberry character. It’s the perfect rosé for any red wine lover who needs something cool over the summer.
Colorado Nuovo 2024- blend of Merlot and Crimson Cabernet, this wine is consistently our best seller no matter the vintage! Unoaked and unaged, it’s an easy drinking red that is still interesting and full of flavor.
Tommy Gunner 2022- our first ever vintage, this Souzão, Cabernet Sauvignon blend is deep, rich, and layers with to***co, leather and a hint of chocolate. Smooth and rich, it still has a years ahead of aging potential.
Riesling 2022- has about 10 cases left, so it also is going to be gone soon. This Riesling has a special place for myself as it is from the first vintage and has been aging incredibly well. Its acids have dropped out and the sugars have almost caramelized. It’s silky, rich, and still perfectly balanced.
It’s a bitter sweet thing to see the last few cases from our first vintage, sitting in the cellar. It’s amazing to see how much wine we’ve had the privilege of sharing with all of you!
Cheers to good wine!

SUNSET SIPS is back!!! And this year we decided once a month wasn’t enough, so we’ll have Sunset Sips the 2nd and last Friday of each month through October 9th.
Join us on the patio this Friday from 5:30-8:30 to soak in the views, enjoy the tunes with and chow down with .shaggys970. Always family friendly, though we do need to ask you to keep your fur babies at home while Whiskey recovers.
We’ll also be bringing back some of those summer time favorite cocktails like the Made Mule and Bitter Mistress. While featuring a Strawberry Lemonade sorbet from for our mimosas and everyone’s favorite the Berry Delight!
Cheers to Sunset Sips!

This is Whiskey’s favorite place to be, in the tasting room, getting all the love and attention from our guests. Or just chilling in between customers (as he’s doing here).
If you’ve been following our story you’ll know he swallowed a fish hook and had to have surgery to remove it. He’s home and recovering now, so it’ll be a few weeks for him to be back to his old self. In the meantime, we are asking everyone to not bring their dogs to the winery. Other dogs will get Whiskey too excited and he’s not allowed to run, jump, or play for two weeks!
Also, all tips for the rest of the month will go towards paying for his surgery and recovery.
Cheers to all the dogs!

Why do we have so many eggs? Because we have about 25 chickens free ranging in our vineyard!
We have chickens for multiple reasons. Being a vineyard we can’t rotate crops for biodiversity, so we add animals and cover crops to help. The chickens fertilize, scratch up the ground, clean up debris around the vines and, most importantly, eat bugs. In 2023 everyone was having problems with grasshoppers and we really didn’t see many. We assumed it was just location, but then when we did spring pruning in 2024 we saw grasshopper damage in our Riesling, which is the furthest back part of the vineyard and the chickens don’t go out that far. Which means they are making a huge difference with our bug population. We’ve made a much better chicken coop trailer so we can slowly move them throughout the vineyard more efficiently.
As a result of so many chickens, we have so many eggs! And instead of buying more cartons we’re going to start selling eggs for $.40 each if you bring your own container, be it a bucket, a basket, a hat, or your own carton. That means you can break free of the dozen restriction. Just think, you could buy 10 eggs, 15 or even 30. For those who can’t bring themselves to break free from the carton we still have some cartons for sell for $5/dozen.

We made it!
First off, a huge thank you to all of you who prayed and pitched in to help us this weekend. We couldn’t have done it without your support. We burned smudge pots three nights/early mornings in a row and still pulled off a great Barrel into Spring (only possible because we had help!). Friday night/Saturday morning we burned from midnight until 7:30am or so. It was a long night for Casey and one of his friends who volunteered to help out (Casey let me sleep so I could man the event Saturday). We went ahead and burned again Sunday morning as the forecast varied from 33 to 36 and we often are a couple degrees colder.
We haven’t done a thorough walk through, but our initial assessment is that we had minimal damage. Even better, we still haven’t done our spring pruning which puts the majority of the damage on parts of the vine that will be pruned off in the coming weeks.
Cheers to all of you who are a part of this crazy journey!

Each year brings its on challenges.
We’ve faced freezes in previous years, but none at such a critical time. Almost the entire vineyard has leafed out, there are buds growing, and the potential of freeze three nights in a row. But we also are armed with more knowledge and tools than before.
We ran irrigation all week to get the ground saturated as it takes energy to freeze water and energy makes heat (it’s a weird thing that seems counterintuitive, but works). We made vineyard candles to burn in the most sensitive vines and continued to run water in the less sensitive areas (flowing water=energy=heat).
So while we may not get much sleep this weekend between the vineyard and Barrel into Spring, we are hopeful of coming out of this weekend without too much damage, and are grateful for everyone who’s volunteered to help in the tasting room and through the night in the vineyard (it’s handy to have an ex-firefighter friend willing to help burn in the middle of the night!).
Cheers to learning and growing!
