Fruit Basket We are a family-run u-pick orchard and fruit stand in Western Colorado. We grow apricots, apples, cherries, grapes, nectarines, peaches, and plums.

Welcome to Fruit Basket Orchards, the only full-service U-Pick orchard in Colorado's Grand Valley. Our motto is “pick, eat, repeat” and if it grows on our property, we’ll let you pick and take it home. We grow a little bit of everything, including all your favorite stone fruit (peaches, sweet cherries, tart cherries, nectarines, apricots, plums), raspberries, plus 18 varieties of apples. We also g

Hello to all,

Fruit season is still on with peaches, apples, grapes and elderberries all available. There will be two or three varieties of peaches for picking. Elberta peaches will be available in the store. Apples include at least three varieties: Macintosh, Gala, and Cortland.

Grapes continue to ripen and should be available until the first freeze. Concords are looking pretty good. I will check them again Friday to see if they are ready.

There is a lot going on in the orchard so come out and get some fresh fruit.

As always, lots of good stuff in the store. Freshly made jams will be available, honey, dried apples, and dried peaches; no sourdough bread this weekend.

Be careful around the new irrigation system and the trimmings from pruning were mulched. Protect your toes with closed toed shoes.

Hello to all,

It is fruit season! I’ve been asked about specific types of fruit, unfortunately, most fruit is ahead of schedule and that makes it a little difficult to predict. But for now I know peaches, apples, grapes and elderberries are all on. There will be two or three varieties of peaches for picking. Apples include at least three varieties: Macintosh, Gala, and Honeycrisp. I was asked if there will be apples in mid-September, the answer to that should be yes!

Several people have asked about Elberta peaches, they are on and they are as tasty as ever.

Grapes continue to ripen and should be available until the first freeze. Concords are not on but some have picked them anyway. I will check them again Friday to see if they are ready.

There is a lot going on in the orchard so come out and get some fresh fruit.

As always, lots of good stuff in the store. Freshly made jams will be available, honey, dried apples, and dried peaches; unfortunately, no sourdough bread this weekend.

Hello to all our fruit lovers,

It is that time of the year when several varieties of fruit are available to be picked or purchased in-store.

Apples, elderberries, grapes and peaches are all on.

It is a little early for apples but they are here and they are juicy and sweet. Two varieties will be designated for picking, Gala and Honeycrisp.

Grapes have started to ripen and should continue until the first freeze.

Different varieties of Peaches continue to be come on. There will be several varieties available this weekend for u-pick and in the store.

Freshly made jams will be available. Honey, dried apples, dried peaches, and other good stuff will also be available. Unfortunately, no sourdough bread this weekend, our baker will be out a few weeks.

Hello all,

This past weekend one of our customers from Denver told us all the stations there reported that all the peaches and other fruit in the Palisade area froze. That just isn’t true. Some did freeze out in this area, and especially south of us in Delta county.

We had a bumper crop of cherries, apricots and the peaches look very good. Heat is bring them in earlier this year than last. Peaches are on and they are delicious. Several varieties will be available, depending on how ripe you like them. They will be available in the store and on the trees for u-pick.

In the store freshly made jam will be available. Honey, dried apples, dried peaches, sourdough bread and other good stuff will also be available.

Hello all,

Peaches are on and they are delicious. Several varieties will be available; I had one in my cereal, it was so good. They will be available in the store and on the trees for u-pick.

There are some cherries left and it is time to sell them or bottle them. I had some today they are firm and sweet. If you want some of what’s left, $1/lb.

Hello all,

Peaches are on and they are delicious. Two varieties will be available; Redhaven (semi freestone) and Lucky 13 (one of the Paul Friday varieties). They will be available in the store and on the trees for u-pick.

Apricots are gone and Cherries are almost gone so get some before they are gone until next year.

Freshly made jam; peach, apricot and cherry will be available in the store, while supplies last. Honey, dried apples, dried peaches, fruit rolls, and other good stuff will also be available in the store.

Something happened to our buyer and he is not able to buy the bulk of our cherries, so we are going to pass that lower price on to our customers. This weekend and maybe the next one too, any quantity, $3.50/pound. If you want to freeze cherries, can cherries or anything else, this is the weekend to buy them. While supplies last. If you can’t make it in, give us a call and we will see what we can do.
