I found some gyro seasoning at ALDI USA and instantly knew I had to make some with ground venison.

I'm a huge fan of gyros and it's hard to find good ones in our little corner of the world.

With fresh tomatoes coming into the garden and onions drying from our harvest a few months ago, I had to go with it!

Homemade pita bread has easily become a favorite recipe around our house too.

I felt really proud of this meal. It felt simple yet so flavorful. Those really are the best recipes, right?!

Kneading is so good for the soul 🤍

Gyros have been on my mind, so homemade pita bread using the recipe from had to be done.

I go back to school tomorrow so there's something so comforting in making something beautiful from scratch for my family.

For my first recipe for I had to do these great Mick y Beignets. If you've been to Disney World/Disneyland, you know that beignets are all over the place and all the treats have to be Mickey shaped.

I've been eyeing these since I bought the cookbook and when I was at ALDI USA I saw a Mickey sandwich cutter. Time to cook!

The recipe came together super easy with a total of 2 hours rest time. They didn't seem to rise as much as I would have liked, but for my first try, I'm pretty pleased! 😄

I will definitely make these beautiful treats again! Thank you to our hosts Stephanie Wright and Niki | Culinary Explorer !

Well I didn't know it had a day, but I can tell you I'm here for it!

While in Panama this summer, I discovered passion fruit first in the form of Maracuyá gelato. 🍨

Let me tell you, it was a PUNCH IN THE MOUTH of flavor. Tart and sweet and like something I've never tasted.

From that time on, maracuyá was what I searched out.

I brought home passion fruit candy, passion fruit tang, and immediately wondered if I would be able to find it in small town Wisconsin (probably not).

But if you are a fan of sweet and tart and punch in the mouth flavor, I can not recommend it enough!

Which would you pick?

These are the last of the jars that haven't been put away from my canning adventures this week.

On the left, a super flavorful cucumber relish.
It has cucumbers, peppers, and onions. The spice mix was: vinegar, brown sugar, tumeric, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, salt, and mustard seed.

On the right, simple applesauce from yellow transparent apples. They are fairly tart apples, so I added just a bit of brown sugar to the apples to sweeten them up.

Which speaks to you? Or would you pick both?!
