Nothing we could share is as important as the movement happening all over the world right now. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Truly foods was established to help people and change our world for the better. Right now that means standing up for black lives with everything we have. We are committed to continuing the hard conversations with our kids and our families and friends. We will continue to demand change through calls, emails and letters to officials with the power to change policy. We will continue to listen to black voices, to believe what they tell us, and to act on it.

As we work to get our small business up and running, we are discussing how Truly Foods can best support the black community in Grand Rapids. Right now we are hard at work getting into an awesome new facility so we can serve as many people as possible, but we want to do all we can now to help so we are having a bake sale this week.

We are making chocolate chip cookies. Who doesn’t need a cookie or twelve right about now? Order this week for pick up early next week. Proceeds will go to Grand Rapids Urban League.

Loving the seasonal produce at Fulton Street Farmers Market! 🍏🍎🍐🍑🍅🌽🍆🥦
We got some beautiful purple bell peppers and more apples than I could carry!
There will be lots of pies and applesauce (packed with greens of course) in our future. And also peppers eaten like apples because that’s how you properly eat a bell pepper.

C H I C K P E A S A L A D
—One of my all time favorite recipes to prep ahead for the week—
Salad:
1 15oz can of chickpeas
3 vegetables of your choice - here I did half a cucumber and a red and an orange pepper. But you could do cherry tomatoes, grated carrot, broccoli, onion, radishes, whatever your favorites are!
Dressing -
2 tbsp Olive oil
Juice of one lemon
Garlic (I did 3 cloves because I like garlic to seep out of my pores)
Salt, pepper
A dash of cayenne or turmeric optional
I make this at least 24 hours before I serve it so the veggies and beans get to soak in that (garlicy) dressing. And it’ll keep in the fridge for the week, so I like to make it on Sunday and then Wes and I can eat it all week for lunch. Serve it on chopped romaine or spring mix to make a protein packed traditional salad, or top with green onions and flax seeds for added flavor and crunch.
I often double or triple this because we eat it so fast. When you try it, I want to know! Be sure to tag .foods and use so I can see your take on Chickpea Salad.

OK yes it’s been a while! But I have a good reason. Meet my Leo. He’s been around for a month now and I’ve been soaking up every moment of this new life. And adjusting to all the new challenges - like getting a toddler on the toilet while nursing an infant, or realizing your 2 year old can now open the fence gate and escape to the busy street we live on, while I’m nursing 20 feet away on the porch. I have to say, having these pouches in my fridge has been so helpful in keeping Wesley occupied and fed while I care for (ok, nurse) Leo. Wes reached for healthy, organic, preservative-free snacks thanks to my Truly Foods pouches. If you or anyone you know is about to have baby # 2, think of gifting a Truly Foods subscription for that family or yourself!

We’re here to help you fuel your kids with Truly simple foods that are gentle on your little one’s tummy and full of easy to digest nutrients.

There can be a lot of pressure on us moms to feed our kids right, discipline them right, give them the right amount of screen time, sleep train/don’t sleep train - you get it. We’re here to take the pressure off and do the hard work for you (at least in one area!). We’ll even deliver the food right to your door.

Eating with the season is the best way to eat! Your food is more likely to be locally sourced, will be full of nutrients, and will be fresh and delicious! Pick up some local seasonal produce from this weekend.
Is anyone else looking forward to opening weekend as much as I am? Can’t wait!
