This is the first year I’ve seen ticks on my sheep’s ears. Vet said to drench them with ivermectin (orally) and that will kill off the ticks and help keep them off for awhile.

With all the rain we have had & this time of the year you should be checking your sheeps eyelid colors weekly for internal worms as well. If lambs or yearlings and haven’t dewormed lately now would be a good time to do so for some protection.

Sheep shearing day! I got lots of naked sheep but they sure do feel much better! No one wants to wear a wool coat in Kentucky spring/summer.
Anyone want a bag of wool let me know I’d love to give it away to someone who would use it. It’s good to insulate your chicken coop with too.

I didn’t lamb this year but a local friend who bought sheep from me in the past
is now having her own lambs available. Contact her to get on her list. She also has a bottle lamb available right now. Let me know if you need more info to contact her. These are really well taken care of from a nice flock

Finally a nice day! Today was a work day in the barn. Hauled more squares up, bleached all water tanks & buckets, and a general good cleaning! Bring on Spring. No lambs this year so the sheep are just enjoying their days grazing & being lazy
