The Texas summer heat can be unbearable. What strategies do you use to keep your furry little ones cool and comfortable? The ones that live near the house with no ponds or creeks, we place Sullivan fans with Mister rings underneath the heaviest groups of shade trees, and it seems to work really well.

This is the part of ranching that everyone dreads and we all hope never happens. It’s 8:20 on a Sunday night and we just loaded up Honey Bee, one of our mini jennies, due to labor complications. Please say a prayer for her. 🙏🏼 🙏🏼

Today Esther was moved up from the pasture for baby watch. We're getting close, with Roxy close behind. I'm eager to see what they'll bring us. All the girls have already shed their coats for summer; it's just part of raising Highlands in Texas.

We try to live a pretty healthy lifestyle, free of as many chemicals and toxins as possible in everything we consume and use. I’m super excited to be attending my first homemakers swap this weekend. I am sharing our all natural laundry soap with my fellow ‘swappers’. Let’s see how this goes!
