Had a great time Saturday at the NEWDGA Udderly Summer goat show with goat friends! Georgia brought home a Reserve Ribbon for her yearling Lamancha, Gabhran Creek Flirtini.

Well we had a repeat of last year. Alder Grove RR Busy Bee 🐝 (Bessy), gave birth unassisted and had both kids up and walking in the 3 hours we were gone! Her ligaments were soft but still there and she wasn't showing any signs of discomfort. I can't believe it again!
She had buck/doe twins. 🩵🩷
These are f1 mini lamanchas.

Well we had a crazy eventful day. Saffron decided to go into labor 4 days early! Ofcourse I was at work having a panic attack, but my friend at Hanni Mountain Farms -Nigerian Dwarf Goats saved the day. She was able to go get Georgia from school and race over to our place right as Saffron had the first kid half way out.
I'm so thankful for our friendship and the time she took to help us out in this stressful situation. 🙏😊
Saffron is a first freshener and these kids are f1 mini lamanchas. 2 doelings, 1 with wattles and 1 without. Both are gold with minimal white.

Missy lamancha had her kids this evening. 1 girl and 2 boys! 🩷🩵🩵
We did have to assist a little. The last kid was coming out breech and hocks first, But Missy did so well.

🌟Looks like Missy is pregnant with 2! We want to thank Alder Grove Dairy Goats for letting use their junior herd sire, Tatum, for this breeding.

As a yearling first freshener last year, Missy peaked at 8.7 lbs. I can't wait to see how much her production goes up as a 2nd freshener.

Tatum's dam, Lucky*Star's RJ Russo, milked over 3,000 lbs as a first freshener. This year, as a 2nd freshener she has milked over 4,000 lbs at 260 days fresh. 🥛 🪣 She is definitely an impressive and extremely productive doe.

I'm hoping for 2 doelings 🤞. As of now I'm retaining all doelings, but if someone is interested in a doeling or wether from this pair please reach out to me.

Can't wait to cut into this Goat Milk Lemon Poppy Seed 🍋 Soap loaf.
It was my first time doing piping on soap, and so far it looks good. 👌
