These two sides of the fence get the same amount of water and the same amount of sunlight, but the soil structure and organic content are completely different. And it's all due to sustainable livestock rotation.
The topsoil is over 9" deep on the green side, and I can identify at least 8 different plant species in just one square meter. It is an excellent habitat for native pollinators, and it makes for healthy, happy pigs!

Such a simple image can feel so validating, especially during some of the most brutal summer heat on record. This is a great illustration of how the methods we use here are having a beneficial impact on the land.

As we pass the peak of summer and begin the journey towards autumn, it's time to start planning how we'll stock the freezers for winter!
These plump little critters have been enjoying the lovely weather and growing fast 😊

Butcher day will be near the end of October and there are 5 shares still available!
We're working with Silvana Meats this year, and customers will have all the usual customizable options.
Send us a message, or email us at [email protected], and reserve some heritage breed, pasture-raised pork!

This gradual slide into summer has also meant ideal pasture for these little cuties to romp around in!
They're currently being trained for hot fences and then they'll be ready to graduate from the nursery paddock out into the big field 😊

They are growing quick too! So for anyone thinking that a freezer full of naturally raised pork might sound like a good way to stock up for winter and the holidays, keep an eye on this page.

It's been so nice to finally get one of our typical PNW long, chilly spring seasons again. This has meant a wonderful boom in pasture growth and a reduction in irrigation use, but it also meant we didn't see baby chickens until late June!
This mama hen didn't even let them out from under her warm feathers for a couple days after they hatched, so I wanted to check and make sure everything was alright in there πŸ’•

Hello everyone 😊
It's finally red wattle pork time again! With only 4 shares available this round, reserve yours soon!

These pigs have been raised on pasture their whole lives and fed an all-organic grain & legume mix, supplemented with a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, yogurt, and even pastries donated from local restaurants and grocery stores. They have been absolutely spoiled to the best of our ability, and we want to pass all that deliciousness on to you!

To reserve a share or get any questions answered, message us here on facebook or give us a call at 425*941*3530.

Lo and behold, we found these little cuties this morning!
There are some signs that the farrowing didn't all go perfectly during the night. But mama Priscilla seems to be settling into the routine again now.

This big lady is due to farrow any day now!More little red wattle babies on the way 😊
