If anyone is looking for a great future family milk cow, meet Evie!

Evie is a Belfair heifer. Belfairs are a cross between Jerseys and Dexters, which means she’ll stay smaller than your standard dairy cow and won’t produce the huge amount of milk associated with a full-size dairy breed.

Personality-wise, Evie is about as friendly as cattle come. If “too friendly” is a thing, she might be it. 😂 She is definitely an in-your-pocket kind of heifer and loves being around people.

Evie has been disease tested and is negative for:
• BLV
• BVD
• Johne’s

She is also confirmed A2A2.

Evie is due with her first calf on May 21, 2027, and is confirmed bred to registered A2A2 Jersey sexed semen.

With her smaller size, more manageable milk production, A2A2 status, and ridiculously friendly personality, Evie has all the makings of a wonderful family milk cow.

Just how much bigger Timeless is than our other cows is still taking some getting used to. 😂🐄

Timeless (left) is our 2yo a2a2 Holstein. She is fresh with her first calf and still has some growing to do.

Patches (right) is a 4yo standard jersey. She is milked right after Timeless so she feels like a miniature 🤣.

Looking at Bella, you’d never believe this big fluffy “Nanna” 🧚 dog was bred to defend livestock against apex predators.

She can go from following the kids around the farm to full-blown guardian at the drop of a dime…Daytime targets are most often hawks, but she’s kept the farm safe against one or two hot air balloons as well.

As much as we love her, a Great Pyrenees isn’t a breed I’d necessarily recommend unless you have a job for them. They’re working dogs.

Bella lounges around most of the day to reserve energy, but come night fall she’s a very different dog. She patrols and BARKS…..a lot. That barking is part of the job. We’ve learned to tell the difference between a probing bark and when she’s “danger close”.

While we love her very much, we’ve also tried not to treat her like a traditional pet. She has purpose here and I don’t want to spoil that out of her…….you can see how well that idea is working for me. 🤣
