The eggs from our black copper maran chickens are my favorite. That’s the rich chocolate brown egg you see up toward the top right of this picture. One of our chickies laid a huge egg today. I can’t wait to crack it and see if it’s a double or triple yolk egg!

We had our very own pasture-raised chicken thighs for dinner last night! I like to bake them in the oven then broil them to get the skin super crispy, shred the meat, and eat it in a tortilla with some avocado and sour cream. Follow us on Instagram! This year we switched the entire farm to non-GMO feed. We’re getting all our bulk feed directly from Kalmbach Feeds and storing it in grain bins.
