Yesterday we say goodbye to our Winnebago! As I cleaned it out for the new owners, it brought tears to my eyes, we enjoyed it so much. 🥰 We drove it to Florida for family trips, taking it a short distance, for a race event around the lake, a few bachelorette parties, NFL football games and baseball games, concerts, milestone birthday party’s, numerous horse shows, and weekend tack shows. Along with friends who used it for memories of their own. However, we hope many more memories will take take place in the Winnebago from Newaygo. 😂 We decided Lakewood farms needs a tractor, for our next chapter. 🚜 Please send pictures and comment, if you have any memories, that took place in the Winnebago! We’d love to hear and share them. 🥰

Welcome to our page Lakewood Farms!

We are excited to share some wonderful news! Our dream of establishing an animal therapy barn is becoming a reality. As we take our first steps on this heartwarming journey, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation. We will continue updates, as we work towards creating a space where children, animals and individuals will be able to connect in healing ways. Your loving support means the world to us!

Ken and Cheri Russell begin their embark on a remarkable journey when they purchased an 85 acre parcel in Grant, MI with the goal of transforming this wonderful location into an animal therapy barn for children and individuals undertaking illnesses and mental health.

This property will include an 80x40 animal barn with 6 stalls, a foaling stall, large hayloft, heated dog kennels and bath area. The outside will have a 30,000 square ft riding arena, pastures, a dog park, 75 acres of nature trails for dogs and horse to enjoy as well.

With Cheri’s passion to turn this into a reality, she leans on her hard work, dedication and determination as she strive to complete her vision by September 2024.

Generosity shows no bounds when it comes to Ken and Cheri who selflessly have giving their time and means to enhance the barns project. Lakewood animal therapy will provide solace and healing to individuals struggling with illnesses, fostering a unique bond between humans and animals.
