We founded Natural Merchants more than 15 years ago with a mission to bring quality, affordable and fabulous family produced European and South American organic wines to consumers in North America. Our program features carefully selected wines grown in unique organic terroir, each
vineyard producing clean, fresh superior wines that are both good for the earth and tantalizing for the palate. We work directly with independent, family growers who only produce organic wines. Every bottle can be traced back to its vineyard of origin, ensuring excellence from grape to glass. We believe consumers deserve to know what’s in their wine and that’s why we’re dedicated to a rigorous third-party certification program that is truly the gold standard in the organic wine industry. All of our wines are made with 100% certified organic grapes, grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers. Only organic and naturally occurring processing aids may be used during wine production. Each vineyard is certified by a third-party organic certifier in that country who works under the same guidelines and labeling requirements as the USDA’s National Organic Standards Program. Most of our wines contain a minimal amount of added sulfites to help preserve their integrity and several in our portfolio have no added sulfites and carry the USDA organic seal on the label. Others are produced in a closed, Biodynamic system of agriculture and carry the Demeter certification. These vineyards have minimal dependence on outside inputs, meeting their needs from the farm itself. They work in harmony with natural ecosystems and the cosmos to help determine optimal timing for planting, harvesting and production. We have also gone the extra step to get Non-GMO Project Verification. From harvest to fermentation and final clarification, all ingredients used in the production of our Non-GMO Project Verified wines have undergone a strict review to make certain that they are not at risk for GMOs. And finally, no animal byproducts are used in the production of any our wines so they are vegan friendly and most are Certified Vegan. We want consumers to be able to confidently select the very best wine for every occasion, so we provide great information on every back label, including the producer’s story, grape varietals, tasting and paring notes.

Prices have decreased by 30% over the past 5 years due to economies of scale in production and shipping costs due to the volume of working on a national scale. Natural Merchants is the #1 supplier of imported European organic wines for Whole Foods Market, Trader Joes and other national chains. Named 2014 Whole Foods Market Wine Supplier of the Year. We work with Distribution Partners who focus on and understand Organic Wines. We can provide sales training materials as well as educational consumer POP materials.
