Our CSA box this week includes salad, two salanova heads, green beans, kale, red onions, daikon radish, tat sai, Chinese cabbage, leeks, and celery.

We have started harvesting Green Beans, Tat Sai, Salanova lettuce here on the new Red Top. Soon the Chinese Cabbage and Bunching Onions will be harvested and consumed. We've got Broccoli and Cauliflower coming on strong. Just planted Celery, a new crop of Tat Sai, Chinese Cabbage, Basil, and Salanova Lettuce. We're doing a lot of experimenting to figure out the seasons here on the island. Looks to me we could grow most things any time we want. Gotta love Hawaii! Can't figure out why we have to import over 90% of what is eaten on the island?

It's happening! Jimmilea and I planted Salanova lettuce, Chinese cabbage, Tat soi, our second bed of Jade bush beans, our second bed of Kwintus Romano beans. Tomorrow we're planting broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, and green and red kale. The hurricane has passed us a little over a hundred miles south so it's planting time here in Hawaii! We also have carrots, beets, and daikon radish here on the home farm up and growing! Been awhile since I've had my hands in the soil and I'm liking it and it's WARM!

Been awhile since we have posted and now is the time! We are now back in Hawaii and planting like crazy! Our first CSA will be starting on the first of the year and we'll be at the Volcano market the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Our farm here will be much smaller, but I can grow year round! Pictures coming soon. Now we have a greenhouse filling up with seedlings for planting out after the 15th of October. More coming soon!

Well the fifteenth is tomorrow and the street is still not done and not officially open. We only see a construction worker occasionally, maybe twice a week. We have lots and lots of goodies in the stand now and are picking around 100 lbs of tomatoes a day. We're open Tues-Sat 10-6 and we'd love to see ya!

Was informed this am that the road project will run over at least two weeks so they will not open the road until after the 15th of September. I think it's time for them to get flagmen and finish this road the way most other roads are done, open!! They did agree to open it for today and the weekend. Wow, thanks guys!

Spent the day picking for the Sat market and the stand. We are at the point of needing more space at the market to display everything we are growing. We have plenty of space here on the farm and are now picking three varieties of green beans, five varieties of tomatoes, four varieties of peppers, four varieties of summer squash, cucumbers, lettuce, chard, kale, fennel, spinach, and Japanese eggplant. We will soon be picking our French Heirloom melons, black eyed peas, Sweet pimento peppers, Carrots, Beets, and red and white salad turnips. We are also cutting Chives, Thyme, French Tarragon, Sage, Cilantro, Dill, and both Thai and Genovese Basil. Stop on by, the road is beautiful and the veggies are even nicer!

Our main driveway will be open starting Monday. Today we picked: French Fillet Beans, Jade Green Beans, Kwintis Romano Beans, Picklers, Slicers, Zucchini, Zephyr, Flying Saucer, and Avocado Squash. Also picked Bell Peppers, Jalapeno and Ancho Peppers, Japanese Eggplant, and Fennel. We're filling up with lots of garden goodies. Tomatoes coming soon!!!! Stop by and see the new million dollar Hubbard Lane!

Paved Hubbard Lane today!!! We will finally be able to open the stand soon. Good thing since everything is starting to be picked now. Stop on by and see a million dollar street!! We have potatoes, onions, peppers, squash, grapes, pickler cukes and slicers, green beans, fennel and lots of greens. We're open 10-6 Tuesday-Sat.

07/18/2013

According to the contractor Hubbard Lane will be open to thru traffic some time this next week. The bridge is almost finished so they can open the road. I don't believe him, but it is hopeful that soon the carnage will be over and we can get back to normal business!

About ready for the Sat Market here in Grants Pass. Kind of in the middle of production now that the spring crops are gone we're waiting on the summer crops. We will have German Butterball potatoes, Russian Banana Fingerling potatoes, Yukon golds, Walla Walla Onions, Red Chief onions, Ringmaster white onions, Red Cross head lettuce, Parsley, and Peppermint. We have all this in the stand and more! Come pay us a visit at the market or the stand for some very fresh "chemical free" veggies! Thank you for supporting your local farmers.

Wow did it get HOT!!! Watering and weeding and watching things grow, working in this heat isn't much fun but it must get done. Harvesting red, white, and blue potatoes for the fourth of july today!!! We are open today from 10am to 6pm. Stop by, the construction seems to be at a standstill now while everyone waits for the bridge to be finished and the tele and cable company to move their wires off of the old poles! Let's get a move on people, you're costing me money!!!
