Zech is wrapping up the last of his buyer letters. He sheared King Gold yesterday. While he was still clean, we hurried up and took some pictures so he could go be a sheep again. Thanks to Mary Anne Morrison for allowing us to take pictures on your farm. And yes, our cat, Niko, came along for a ride.

Who is looking for ducklings? We will have some available soon as we have a hen nesting on a clutch. If I've been paying attention correctly, they should be hatching in about a week or two. Mix breed. Straight run. $10 each.

I'm curious. Do you have a veterinarian? The importance of having one, whether you use them or not, is to have them available for questions and emergencies. It also helps if they have a vet that specializes with your species.

For instance, when we had a complete vaginal prolapse with SheRa. I did call one of our producer friends. They said that was nothing to mess around with. Get ahold of the vet ASAP. So we did. It didn't turn out like we had hoped for. We tried and SheRa tried. It was to much for her. If there were to be a "next time" my fingers will be swiping to the vet first and our sheep will be loading while I'm on the phone.

I cannot stress enough, with the lack of vets, to be on their patient list for when emergencies arise, especially on the weekends and holidays. They will happen at some point in time.

I'd like to give Crater Vet a shout out for helping answer questions and helping us in our time of emergency needs.

First attempt at making fruit leather. It was late last night when we came home from feeding and working out at the gym. It looked great sitting on the silicon sheet. It was tacky and very warm. We let it set overnight while we slept. The edges were tasty! 😋 The middle is still soft. Maybe it was me being tired and saying it was good enough. Trial and error. We'll definitely be doing this again.

We're a little behind picking strawberries this year. This is the first crop that Jessi Bartolome and I pulled out of our garden. We're planning to make for leather with them.
