No Brand? You Still Need a Brand Inspection!
Planning to take your 4-H or FFA calf out of Oregon for a jackpot or livestock show?
Oregon requires a brand inspection before cattle leave the state—even if your calf has NO brand!
🔎 Why inspect an unbranded calf?
A brand inspection is also called an ownership inspection. It helps verify who owns the animal, whether it has a brand or not.
📅 Making several trips to jackpots with your new project?
Ask our local brand inspectors about an annual cattle inspection! It covers multiple out-of-state trips during the same calendar year BUT becomes void if ownership changes.

🩺 What about a health certificate?
Exhibitors may also need a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), often called a health certificate, in addition to their brand inspection. Contact your veterinarian before traveling to confirm the destination state’s and show’s requirements, including identification, testing, and paperwork deadlines.
💡 Brand inspections verify ownership. Health certificates address animal health. Check both before you go!
