Expansion at Fuzzy Bee Acres! 🐝✨

​We are absolutely delighted with our first "designer" hatch! What started as a simple homeschooling project has quickly blossomed into a huge inspiration for the kids. They’ve been learning the ropes of flock management and are so excited to help us expand our coop.
​While we started with hatching Silkies for fun, we’ve been hard at work developing our own unique triple-cross line. These beauties are a special mix of Boaz (our German Bielefelder/Polish Tolbunt rooster) and our two Ameraucana hens, Ruth and Naomi.
​The goal for this project is a hardy, dual-purpose bird that brings together the best of all worlds:
♡​The Color: Gorgeous green eggs (some with those lovely speckles!).
♡​The Size: The Bielefelder influence adds the potential for larger, dual-purpose birds that are excellent layers.
♡​The Temperament: These have been handled daily by the kids and are very well-socialized.

We’ve been feather-sexing this batch, and it looks like we have 4 hens and 4 roosters. We are making a few of these stunning birds available to join your backyard:
♡​Handsome Cockerels: Gorgeous boys who will be an amazing, unique addition to any flock.
♡​Starter Flock: We are also offering one "Starter Set" (2 hens and 1 rooster) for someone looking to jumpstart their own colorful egg basket!

​We are so proud of the progress here at Fuzzy Bee Acres and love seeing the kids take such an active role in sustainable farming.

We have some exciting happenings going on over here. We have wanted to add some silkies to our flock, so we found a local farm and bought some eggs to incubate. We are 14 days in and the kids enjoyed candling them this weekend. 4 out of 12 were viable, so we'll be hatching another batch when these are done in another week. After that we'll be hatching a set from our current flock. Our rooster Boaz is a Polish Tolbunt/German Bielefelder cross. He is a big boy and we'll be crossing him with our Americauna hens Ruth and Naomi.
