Do you need a Deduct Meter? If you're on city sewer & water and you do a lot of lawn watering, consider getting a deduct meter from your water provider.

This device will keep track of the number of gallons of water used outside your house. The water provider can then deduct that number of gallons from your primary meter reading for the sewer portion of your utility bill.

Without this device, you'll be paying a sewage processing bill for the gallons of water that are NOT going down the sewer. On the flip side, if you water infrequently, the cost of the meter may exceed the savings.
