Cabinet incubator deep-clean day here, and it is always so satisfying. I do perform maintenance cleans in between hatches, but every so often, she gets a deep super cleaning. The back gets removed, the whole thing gets completely vaccumed out, interior surfaces sanitized, humidity and egg trays cleaned and sanitized, then set aside to air dry. My favorite part is putting it back together and it looking brand new. 🤩🫧🧽

I have made some absolutely wonderful friends bonding over a shared love of poultry over the years. The sweet and amazing Janet Tipton (of Flying T Cluckers) is my chicken lady bestie and she just gifted me a sign she made. She is so talented and it couldn't be more perfect.

Let's be honest. We all know that "Go on, git!" side will get the most use. Peopling in person is done by appointment. 🤣

📦 Packaging method: Eggs are double box packaged. Inner box with my own custom soft foam insert, then a layer of clean polyfill with 72 hour cold pack in between the inner box and outer box. *The cold pack does not make the eggs cold, it is just enough to keep the temp inside the box more stable in the warmer weather.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to give a little PSA about my mottled silkies. Since recently posting about them and sharing that they have laid their first eggs, I have had dozens of excited messages from folks wanting to purchase mottled hatching eggs and chicks.

I absolutely appreciate the enthusiasm and support, I am just not to that point yet. Mottled is my newest color and my pullets have only been laying about a month. They are still young, about 7.5 months old, and in a pullet only pen. I am letting them grow and mature a bit more before I decide which cockerels I am pairing each one of them with for breeding, so at this point they aren't even laying fertilized eggs.

I love to share with all of you, and I absolutely will, in time. The most important things to me right now are to do right by these birds, this color variety, and the amazing breeder who generously shared her lines with me. To get started off on the right foot, to be conscious, selective, and act with intent as I move forward with this project.

I promise, after pairing, and test breeding, test hatching, and the other steps involved in getting started and making good progress, I will make an update post and let everyone know when I'll have some mottled eggs to share.
