Check out five fun microgreens facts below:

1️⃣ Microgreens are the early growth, or the first seven to 14 days aka seedling stage, of the vegetables we commonly consume on a daily basis.

2️⃣ A 2012 University of Maryland study shows microgreens are 4-40X more nutritious than their adult versions.

3️⃣ Microgreens are chalk-full of antioxidants and and fight free radicals (i.e., cancer).

4️⃣ Microgreens are 100 percent bioavailable unlike multivitamins, which studies show we only absorb at most 5 percent before passing the rest through waste.

5️⃣ Microgreens are NOT sprouts! They are grown in a medium like soil whereas sprouts are not and require water. Only the stem and cotyledon leaves are eaten from microgreens vs sprouts consisting of the seed and stem.
