As the temperature rises, we’d like to remind our youth buyers that the most important nutrient this time of year is H2O. Your animals need cool, clean water to keep growing and looking their best. We recommend making ice in any big jug or container you can get it back out of (we like big yogurt containers). Drop one into the water tank or bowl to keep it cooler longer.

Now, does anyone know why the hen ducks are multiplying in our pond? No drakes, just hens.

We’d like to introduce the latest addition to the flock- Rogue! He’s an early December ram lamb, and should be ready to do his job this fall. We’re excited to see what his lambs look like!

A huge thank you to BoPeep Sheep in Oregon for allowing us to bring him to California!! Check out their page for some great pics of Rogue’s sire, Eeyore.

Ted E Bear went crazy barking up the back hill just before dark tonight. With 8 lambs in the pasture, we took it seriously and ran outside to back him up.
Thankfully Ted E was able to protect all of us from this frightening intruder! We neutralized it in the house.
