Mother Nature has certainly kept us on our toes this season! 🌪️🍇
If there is one thing we’ve learned about farming in our unique location, it’s that you have to be just as resilient as the vines themselves. It has been a totally topsy-turvy spring here at the vineyard, but our grapes are doing absolutely incredible.
Here is what our wild timeline has looked like so far:
Feb 21st: A beautiful, freezing blanket of snow covered our dormant vineyard. ❄️
March 12th: Bud break! We were blessed with glorious sunshine and warm weather, and the vines exploded with healthy shoots and baby clusters. ☀️🌱
Last Week: Hurricane-like winds rolled through, pushing our young vines over. We’ve spent all week working hard to right them and get them supported again. 🌬️
Today: A high of only 59°F with a chaotic mix of serious rainstorms, thunder, a little hail, and sudden bursts of sun. We were right out there in the elements, getting soaked while trying to tie up those fast-growing arms! ⛈️🌦️
Through the snow, the fierce winds, and the unpredictable storms, these vines just keep thriving and reaching for the sun. Farming in this climate is wildly unpredictable, but seeing these grapes push through everything thrown their way makes all the hard work worth it.
Here’s to the wild ride of spring and the incredible resilience of nature! 🍷🌿
