Many thanks to all of you who supported us since we opened in 2006.
It was quite a journey and we enjoyed every bit of it, especially meeting each of you and hopefully bringing smiles to your face with our wines.
Cheers to everyone and all the best!

Solune will be pouring our wines at Stucki Jewelers on Mill Street.
This year we are delighted to be paired with Happy Apple Kitchen (https://www.facebook.com/happyapplekitchen/).
Btw, they are actually located just a few miles from us on highway 174. Saturday lunch at HAK, followed with a visit to the three Wine174 wineries (wine174.com) is a great way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon.
See you on Saturday!

Solune Winery Open House Today

Saturday, December 12, 1-4pm

When Christmas shopping gets you bothered and bewildered today, come over to Solune Winery in Grass Valley for a relaxing time. We’ll be playing gentle, soothing holiday music mixed in with our lovely European tunes for Solune’s Annual Holiday Open House.

Taste wines (and chocolate/port pairing!) and listen while winemaker Jacques embroiders the art and science he puts into each white and red and rosé they produce. We fell in love with their wines after tasting and listening to Jacques expound all about the woods used for barrels. If only our college science professors had been so passionate! And if only they had given us wine! See you there, it's a short cruise down highway 174...

Fall colors in California?
Absolutely! (in our vineyard anyway).
Nice range, from the yellow foliage of white grape vines to the red foliage of the red grape vines, with a few rows still hanging on to their summer green.

We had underestimated how many people would be on the wine174 trail on Saturday. So all 3 wineries were flooded with a deluge of very patient wine tasters (biggest crowd of the year!). Now that we know, needless to say we will be even more prepared next time.
Through it all, Train Conductor Ted Barison from the Nevada County Historical Society (www.nevadacountyhistory.org) kept the train moving, so to speak, chatting people up about the Narrow Gauge Train (www.ncngrrmuseum.org/), which ran between 1876 and 1942, bringing gold to the big railway in Colfax, and then brought supplies back.
During its life time it moved $200M in gold and was never robbed (the only one in the West!).
Part of the driveway coming up to Solune (the straight part, just before turning right to go uphill to the winery) is where the rails actually went through.
Ted drove up in a mint condition antique car, an attraction in itself and worth the trip on its own !
