Pioneering a new way through farming - using natural, organic farming methods - English Munstead lavender and creating radical societal change through smudge bundles. By ethically wild crafted, I mean that I always ask permission from the plant before cutting, I always say thank you, and I never ever take all there is to take. My intention in making smudge bundles is to create and effectuate radic

al societal change — specifically, to end racism and discrimination against minorities in America. I also have the intention of bringing about change in the way we treat our natural world. I hold the natural world sacred, and I am sick to my core at the mess we have made on this planet. We have a lot of work to do to fix it. Although I have only recently begun making magic smudge bundles again in this incarnation, Spirit has told me that I have been making magic smudge bundles for seven lifetimes. I was very hesitant to use the word “smudge,” as I believe it to be a cultural appropriation, and I do not wish or intend to offend anyone. Old Field Lavender Farm is located near the North Fork New River in the Old Field Creek Township of rural Ashe County, North Carolina — the heart of the southern Appalachian Mountains.

We grow “Munstead” lavender, which is often chosen over other kinds for its fragrance. The Munstead variety of lavender is a short-stemmed, true English lavender, which lacks the hint of camphor present in many latifolia and x intermedia varieties. What Munstead lacks in stem length, it redeems in fragrance. Our lavender is grown 100% naturally, that is to say without the aid of any chemicals or inorganic products of any kind. We are also Certified Naturally Grown!
