Sorry for not having updated this in a while!

I am in sunny Florida for a few months, be back at the end of February or beginning of March. Looking for a busy summer again this year. I have a great staff for the summer, they all did a wonderful job this year, they really stepped up and made things happen.

We will be doing Fred Bear Day at Kirkland in March. March 7 is the sell, swap and trade, good food again. Hopefully it is not the blizzard that we had last year.

Trying to get a hold of Grayling Chamber of Commerce and get the food truck down to the canoe race again this year.

I am looking for a spot around Grayling to put the food truck in a more permanent location. Let me know of any ideas, not in the city zoning of Grayling, township is fine.

So some of you have seen some recent bad reviews of my service at a wedding. It happens. However, I was not able to do the setting up of the serving area, I would never have put the food table in the way of the entrance to the tent. I was not given the space that I requested to set up my food properly. This was a free-be event that cost me over $1,000 out of pocket, not to mention MY time. I paid for all food, all tableware, all non-alcoholic drinks, dessert, appetizers, labor and transportation fees. Oh, and the use of my personal tables, chairs and kegerator. I did this as a wedding present for my brother's wife's son. As I read some of these reviews, and I always read my reviews, good and bad, I have to ask myself why did I get upset since most of this was not my fault. I arrived at 1:30 to serve appetizers between 2-3 and dinner at 3. Well, the wedding did not get underway until 2:30ish, I was not allowed to put food out until 4 and not able to open the food line until after 4:30. Now we drove 2 1/2 hours to get to the event, it was another 3 hours before the main food was able to be served. I use Cambro insulated food transport boxes, as far as I am concerned, these are the best. However, when you put hot food in the containers between 10-11, drive 2 1/2 hours and wait another 3 hours, the quality of the food is going to go down. I am not trying to make excuses, just wanted to set the facts straight. Those who have employed my services and enjoyed my food, know I am what I am.

So I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes! Sorry I didn’t respond to everyone, running my ass off.

On another note I am happy to continue to say that I am still sober for the last 7 months! I really appreciate all of the support from family and friends! My life has changed for the better.

We will be downtown for the canoe race starting on Thursday! Please stop by and say hi.

One pig done today, 2 more on the roasters now and another at 3am. I have made 16 pans of mac and cheese, 16 pans of baked beans, 5 pans of tossed salad, 3 pans of fruit salad, 225 rolls, etc, etc, etc, I am beat. Retired, yeah right. Have to make mashed taters and gravy for 150 in the morning.

I know, my own fault.

Excuse me, I am going to try to sleep for an hour or so.
