Ellie’s been working hard collecting eggs this week to sell at the !

Since launching Ellie’s Eggs in January, she has raised $2,500 for her Horse Fund along with paying for cartons and feed and market fees. She’s officially 1/2 way to her goal of having enough money to buy her own horse!

Come out to the market tomorrow and shop local! It doesn’t just put food in your fridge, it puts money into the local economy, it is better for the environment and shopping local helps entrepreneurs of all ages realize their dreams!

Yesterday Ellie got the hookup from ! They gave her chicken feed for her chickens, an egg collecting apron and some other awesome swag! She only needs about 100 more pockets added on to her apron to help with her egg collecting each day, but she sure loved stuffing the pockets until she ran out of room!

We’re working with Nutrena on sourcing some other grain options for our operation that are corn and soy free. It’s not easy to get the protein percentage we like to feed, while keeping it financially viable for the business and still affordable for our customers. But we’re always striving to offer better products to our customers, and evolving the farm and business! We’re thankful for brands like Nutrena who come to the table to have these discussions with us to help us improve our operation, our products and the future of agriculture while we’re at it!

Ellie is considering selling her doelings that will be 8 weeks at the beginning of April to put to her Horse Fund!

Both of these doelings are milk breeds from great, easy keeper mamas. They are Saanen and Nubians and are sweet as can be! These will be $350 each at 8 weeks old! Any interest, let us know!

Ellie has made it 1/4 of the way in her savings to getting her horse! And has only launched just since the beginning of January! Between shopping for her eggs at the and on the farm during our open hours AND fans of her venmoing her money to put towards her horse, y’all are going to have this girl on the horse hunt before we know it!

One of Ellie’s many fans brought her a sweet gift to the market this past weekend, a whole bag of screen printed Ellie’s Eggs swag! They came out so great she has offered to help Ellie launch selling Ellie’s Eggs tshirts and hoodies at the market and have the proceeds go toward her horse fund goal!

Can’t thank our community of supporters enough for all they do for us and for Ellie!

Ellie’s Eggs wouldn’t be possible without Ellie’s Hens! They have been enjoying the sunshine and warm weather and so have we!

Ellie has a variety of heritage breed chickens, like this French Imported Bresse Hen and this Araucana Hen!

We opt to only raise heritage breed egg layers over hybrids and modern breeds because of their heartiness and desire to work in our forests and forage!

Next time you buy Ellie’s Eggs, ask her about her chickens!
