Lake County is witnessing a groundbreaking union in the realm of regenerative agriculture and conservation. Liberty Prairie and Prairie Wind Family Farm have merged, now operating collectively under the banner of Liberty Prairie, to amplify their impact on the community. This collaboration marks a significant step in their journey of nurturing the local ecosystem. Furthering their integration, Prairie Wind’s farmstand has made a strategic move to the Prairie Crossing Station Shops in Grayslake.

Executive Director Karen Wilkes articulates the vision behind this merger: "Our aim is to intensify our work at the crossroads of conservation and agriculture, revitalizing our local food system. This decision for deeper structural collaboration with Prairie Wind Family Farm was driven by our desire to forge a larger impact within the community. While we embrace these changes, our dedication to fostering and supporting our community remains unaltered."

Our 2023 farming season wraps with a hilarious team celebration with farmer-themed minute-to-win-it games and preparations for tomorrow’s Farm Store opening. We couldn’t do what we do without our team!!

We are happy to share that Prairie Wind Family Farm and Liberty Prairie are joining forces under the name Liberty Prairie (). We are doing this to grow our shared impact further than we could as individual organizations. Today, we began the transition to grow our farmstand into a farm store and our farmstand is closed this week as we move. We welcome you to our Grand Opening event this Saturday (address on invite pic).
Our 2024 Farm Shares will still be grown by us and farming partners. The registration is live at www.libertyprairiestore.com. Thank you for your support of our farming family as Prairie Wind Family Farm and now, as Liberty Prairie!

In an exciting finish to the season, the repairing, rebuilding and re-covering of all damaged structures is complete!

Words cannot completely express our gratitude for the support we received this spring and throughout this season. We faced an extremely difficult start to the 2023 farm season, and we finally feel like we have our feet under us again, thanks to our community. Please read about our plans for the 2024 season.
