Rob is Black Lung’s Vice President, Brewer, a managing partner, and the guy I call whenever I need help lifting something heavy. When he isn’t making serious beer, he’s playing guitar in Wrath Chicago, collecting vintage guitars, creating Boba Fett masks with his 3-D printer, hanging out with his Great Dane, Tiny, or developing yet another hobby that requires expensive equipment. Sometimes you’ll even catch him enjoy our products from his custom LEGO beer mug in the taproom.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take brewing very seriously—so you can enjoy what’s pouring from those taps behind him.

Happy birthday, Nooner! Thanks for the laughs, the beer, the metal, and the upper-body strength. Now somebody please tell us what the hell he’s pointing at 😂

Hey- most know we have tasty beer and amazing food here at Black Lung, but more importantly we have the WHEEL! It’s a sad day that I personally can never forget. The day we learned we were not safe at home. We also learned more about our own government. And, more still about our fellow Americans. I never felt as united as a country as we were the weeks after the attack. We lost amazing people on 9/11. They were black, white, Indian, Chinese, every race and color died in the towers. Some just getting to work, some where hero’s. There is no larger melting pot than this country and our major cities, in the world. We were all hurt, we all came together.

Use today to be good to someone else. Help a neighbor, say hi to someone that’s not like you, lend a hand. Let’s be more tolerant of each other. Spend your time, have a brew, lifting others up, these are your countrymen/women. Be the change you want in the world. Do it with me folks. Do it with a tasty beer if you don’t mind:)

Back 9 Hero is back on draft! Our tasty Kölsch style ale with honey infused is a popular beer amongst the golf scene. You may love it.

🍯 🍻 Back 9 Hero Honey Kölsch is back on draft—and it didn’t come here to work on its short game.

A few years back, we joined forces with the Round Lake Area Park District and Renwood Golf Course to brew this crisp, easy-drinking Kölsch with honey pulled straight from their local hives.

This year, the queen ran into some trouble and the hive couldn’t deliver. We tracked down honey elsewhere and kept the project alive.

Different hive. Same crew. Same damn hero.

Kick things off with lunch at 12pm, then our $5 Happy Hour from 4–6 PM, finally stick around for Open Mic at 7 PM featuring local musicians, comedians and poets taking the Black Lung stage.
