VDACS is now accepting applications for the 2024 Beehive Distribution Program. Virginia residents age 18 or older can apply for free equipment for assembling new beehives. Recipients will be selected at random from qualifying applications received during the application period, which runs until Sept. 6.

Recipients of beehive units must assemble the equipment and occupy it with a colony of honey bees within one year of receiving the equipment. VDACS does not provide honey bees or equipment for managing the hives, such as personal safety equipment or honey processing equipment.

Except, it’s not THAT easy.

I’ve killed a lot of plants.
And still grow a lot of weeds.
Flower farming is hard. Really hard.
This garden has seen and felt my blood, sweat, and tears, as well as my fears, my joy, my sadness, and my peace.
But, in the last three seasons as a flower farmer, I’m still growing and evolving. And growing and evolving.
And been blessed ten fold. ☝🏻🙏🏻
Thank you to my family, friends, customers, and community from the bottom of my heart for all of your support. 🫶🏻
I have the best flowering growing soul mate a gal could ask. 👊🏻🌼
And to that amazing hubby of mine. The Lord sure knew what He was doing when brought us together.

Without honey bees, most of our food supply would not exist. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Think about that for minute. 🤔
It’s up to 𝒶𝓁𝓁 of us to protect these little ladies, particularly those of us in agriculture!
