Thank you! We reached our goal for Spring Forward for Food Security!

You've been hearing from us quite a bit in the previous week, and while we've emphasized the reason for this campaign, we would also like to start by saying thank you.

Let's start by saying THANKS to all of our volunteers!

Thank you to our community partners, and to the food donors in our network.
THANKS to our gleaners and orchard owners!

THANKS to our volunteers packing and delivering food boxes to school aged children and their families!

Berkshire Bounty's Spring Forward for Food Security crowdfunding campaign concludes today 6/15! Our goal is to raise $75,000 to fund programs like the Food Box Project and the Farm to Food Access program. Funds also help Berkshire Bounty provide food to 34 feeding assistance programs throughout the county!

Through today, June 15th, all donations are matched, dollar for dollar, up to $30,000, thanks to challenge grants from the Donald C. McGraw Foundation, the Black Rock Foundation, and the Gilson Family Foundation.

From the co-presidents of the Berkshire Bounty board of directors: "Over the past 10 years, we have seen a small, volunteer-based, grassroots organization grow into a vital force in the local food system. From collecting 8,000 pounds of food in the first year, to over 750,000 pounds most recently is a testament to the dedicated staff, a robust volunteer force, strong board leadership, and the growing need for access to nutritious food by our community members. In a perfect world, Berkshire Bounty would not need to exist. For now, we are innovating, thinking strategically and creatively, working with community partners, and reaching out to our dedicated supporters. During this fundraising campaign, our goal is to raise $75,000 to support our programs."

In the words of one of our volunteers: "I see food insecurity up close here in the Berkshires. It's not abstract. What Morgan, Jenny, and this whole organization have built across their network and through the food box deliveries is genuinely impressive. It works because they made it work. As federal support continues to shrink, the gap doesn't disappear. It just falls on us to fill it. I'm proud to be part of doing that. Calling all volunteers! We are building a volunteer team to harvest produce from Three Sisters Farm in Sheffield. This 1.5 acre farm is amazingly donating ALL the food they grow to support food security in the region. If you are able to volunteer 2 hours on a Monday or Thursday, can bend, and can lift 30 lbs, we'd love to have you♥️🌱!
