I am focusing on The Artful Pedigrees at this time.. horse, dog, cattle and other pedigree in art form.

I did all of these for fun!! I loved the floral with the different backside of the paper! The old car with key for the charm was fun! And the horse journal is astounding! I added a dual horse charm to it as well! It's really neat. I have more of that design of paper so if you would like a different color that the pink inside, I can do that up as well! I have 2 more of the horse charms available.

Sorry I haven't been here for a bit! Too busy!! I just finished a beautiful journal which is now touring with it's new owner, Louise Schleifer Hogan in Scotland and Ireland right now!! What a joy it was to do for her!!!

I completely forgot to share with you a journal made for a young girl for her high school graduation! I have taken up beading now for the binding on the journals!! It makes it so neat (however incredibly crazy slow it is!) - I'm loving the outcome!!
I added a custom design logo of her initials and also the Bible verse that was on her graduation announcement! She loves to journal Bible verses and also thoughts so this will be a perfect addition to her already full life!!
I was so pleased to a part of this endeavor- however the twists and turns of it!! Thank you JS!! It was so fun!!❤

Just got done with a huge project for a mortgage company in Las Vegas that had been on my shoulders trying to figure out how to do this where it would have the greatest impact, be large enough to do the trick and yet small enough to ship without being so large it wasn't insane!! Of course I went through enough designs to fill the dumpster before finalizing this one!!😳 These are just a few pictures of what the design looked like-- I couldn't get a completed picture - but you get an idea of what it will look like!! They asked everyone to say something nice about each other and then they wanted it to hang in the boardroom.🤗 I designed a series of panels that hangs down with ribbons connecting them- this way they can fold up into each other- hence I can fold the entire thing up together to compact for shipping!(😁) This will hang by fishing line that I have attached to 4 poster hangers from the back - When they are done with it, they can cut the ribbon and each girl can take their panel home with them as a remembrance of what the others thought of them! Believe me- I had many ideas that they could also take their panels home- but this was the most compact for shipping!!! I hope they like it as this was shipped off yesterday and will arrive at the end of the week!! fingers crossed!

These journals are thoughtfully handmade - from choosing the leather to correspond with the signature cover pages(this is what we call the sections) to what papers are inside. And with all of these journals I have put charms with them to enhance the work inside! Each are hand bound with thread to match either the leather or papers. (Such as on the last one - the BEAUTIFUL Poppies- the thread is a moss green to match the stems of the Poppies)
The prices will vary according to the different products used.
These are 4x6 in size and open up to 6x8
Special orders available in colors and a larger size is also available
If you would like to change out the charms to something different- I can do that. Some of these journals have upwards of $15 - $18 worth of charms on them!
In the description below “signature” means the sections on the journal of which there are 6 sections bound into the journal.

Ok- my other project in the studio - horses names in gold- these are samples ( the top being Daisy’s registered name) and the next being Sly’s registered name! I am already taking orders on these and can put the horses image behind it if you want! Ruth Gates Ruth Gates Lettering Arts. Also doing people names - dogs- anything you would like!!

Oh- also made a journal for Austin Gates during all this!! (Yes. It’s been a busy time in the studio!).
He wanted a “plain book to journal in Well- I can’t do plain! So I did this- hand painted pages on the outside of the signatures- so he had all plain pages for the inside of the signatures. I found these painted ones in my stash- they were left from my father-in- law’s journal I did for his funeral- they had been practice sheets! So it was perfect! Then I did his initial in 23kt gold in the first signature. I had this piece of leather I’d been saving with the cool design in it that I had to use for him.
He is reading a book that I pulled a couple things from and told him I’d fill in with the other things he found inspiration from on the other pages.
