Why do we choose to package in glass?
-Glass is non-porous, so it does not alter the taste of the milk, like plastic or metal can do.
-Glass is 100% recyclable, and can be used indefinitely without losing quality.
-Glass is see through, so you can see exactly what your product looks like on the inside.
-Glass can be easily sterilized without effecting quality, and is non-porous texture leaves no space for bacteria to hide and multiply.
-Glass does not contain harmful chemicals like BPAs, phthalates, or lead like many plastics do, which can leak into your beverages.
-Glass is hypoallergenic for those with chemical sensitivities.
We desire to provide the highest quality product we can to our customers, and glass is simply the best option for packaging our milk in the way of quality. It may not always be the easiest or cheapest option, but it is the healthiest, and that is what matters most!
Now, why do we charge a bottle fee? While most of our customers will bring our jars back safely, sometimes accidents happen, jars get broken, or jars don’t get returned. The bottles cost us $2.55 each, with an addition $1,100 shipping for a single pallet (792 jars). This comes up to nearly $4 per jar. By charging a bottle fee upon purchase, this covers the cost if a jar ever has to be replaced!
I know you’ve been used to seeing our jars with tags on them, but we have ordered an entire pallet of customized jars with our name and information on them, which will be here at the end of June. This will make labeling a lot easier for us!
