There’s a garden just off I-15 that I’ve noticed for years. Every time I drove by, I admired how beautiful it was, the potential of the space and dreamed of a space as beautiful, but I never knew the story behind it.

Today, after doing a little research, I discovered it's the Kids Garden operated by the Boys & Girls Club of Cascade County. What I thought was simply a beautiful garden is actually a place where kids have the opportunity to learn how to grow food, care for plants, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills through hands-on gardening. It's incredible to see a space that not only produces fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers, but also cultivates curiosity, responsibility, and community.

It reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful places are the ones we pass every day without knowing the impact they're making.
A space I've loved from a distance now has so much more meaning.

Sunshine, fresh air, and a little dirt under your fingernails.

Our Kids Garden is more than just a place to grow food, it's a place where our Club kids learn patience, responsibility, and the joy of watching their hard work pay off.

There's no better classroom than nature.

We are open today!

We have a loaf of plain sourdough, eggs, cookies, and rice crispies available.

Along with other local handmade items. Today is a great day for some iced peach pie tea!
