Yoplait, along with other brands of yogurt offer many health benefits to the consumer. For every 6 ounces of yogurt, there is approximately 9 grams of protein. Consumers aren’t only getting a dose of protein, though. The yogurt also contains calcium, vitamin B-2, vitamin B-12, potassium, and magnesium. Ever heard of probiotics? Yogurt contains those as well! Probiotics are known as a “friendly bacteria” that help boost the immune system and promote the digestive tract. Eating yogurt may also reduce your risk of high blood pressure. According to Alvaro Alonso, MD, Ph.D. a researcher in the epidemiology department at Harvard School of Public Health, there was an observed 50% reduction in the risk of developing high blood pressure among people that ate 2-3 servings of low-fat dairy a day compared to people who did not eat any dairy.
