Last fall we reseeded a pig paddock in rye and crimson clover as a cover crop. It currently has chicken tractors on it to add a nitrogen boost. We are then planting more tomato starts, summer squash and winter squash into it. We are building our soil with the help of animals, cover crops and vegetables.

Fiddleheads coming soon! As the ramps begin to die back the fiddleheads start popping up. A mix between green bean and asparagus, fiddleheads are great steamed, sautéed, roasted and pickled! They have as short of a season as ramps so get them while you can!
