Rocking Roulette is a Rip yearling ewe we retained out of our best-producing dam, and she’s already proving why she earned her spot. Balanced, feminine, and built right. She’ll be bred to Rocking R***r this fall, and we’re expecting a powerful set of lambs from this matchup.

Here at Rocking TLC Farms LLC crabgrass is a favorite! We seeded one of our pastures almost 2 weeks ago with Red River Crabgrass.

🌾 Forage Friday 🌾
Some forages get a bad reputation as “weeds,” but this one has proven it can pull its weight in the pasture. It’s hardy, productive, and doesn’t mind less-than-perfect soil.

📸 This week’s feature:
👉 Crabgrass
🔍 Crabgrass is a warm-season annual forage that can survive in low fertility soils
📍 Found all across the state of Arkansas
💬 For more information check out fact sheet:https://www.uaex.uada.edu/publications/pdf/fsa-2139.pdf

🌱 It may not win any beauty contests, but crabgrass can be a real asset in summer grazing. Do you let it grow in your pastures?

We had an incredible opportunity this Saturday to learn from Dr. Bertucci, Dr. Finch, Dr. Dan Quadros, and Faulkner County Extension Agent Kevin Lawson during their workshop on composting manure, taking accurate soil samples, and reading soil test results.

Their knowledge and hands‑on demonstrations were phenomenal. This training is a game‑changer for us as we continue designing our pasture nutrition program here at Rocking TLC Farms.

At the heart of our operation is a simple truth:
We must put just as much — or more — nutrition back into the soil as we take out.

Healthy soil feeds healthy forage. Healthy forage feeds healthy sheep.

And it all starts with doing things the right way — safely, responsibly, and with the microorganisms in mind.

We’re grateful for the expertise shared and excited to apply these practices to build stronger, more resilient pastures for our flock.
