It’s a beautiful day today! The rain is gone and the sun is shining. We are all enjoying the weather on the patio.

Rockie is out 8ish month old redbone c**n hound mix. He’s absolutely wonderful with Isaac. He’s so gentle with him you would think he is an older dog.

To make room for a 1/4 beef in the freezer we needed to process some questionable deer meat for the dogs to eat later.

2 hind quarters off a roadkill buck gave us 17 quarts of meat and broth.

My brother did this with AI. These are my maternal grandparents at age 18 or so back in the 1950’s. I love it even more now that I can see it in color. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Calves are super ornery when we try to wean them off the cow. If they can find a way to keep
Nursing they will.

Miss lady needs some surgery done on her nose ring to keep her from nursing. So that’s what we did this morning.

She’s 3 months old. Plenty old enough to not be nursing anymore. It’s not her milk it’s mine. I own the cow and her purpose is to feed our family. 😊😎👍

Due to the current power outage I don’t know if I’ll be able to provide washed eggs. But thankfully the girls are giving me a lot of clean eggs.

Today was Isaac’s first pool experience. It was alittle chilly but we had a good time for about an hour.

Now it’s nap time for everyone. 😴

Alan really likes to cook with herbs and I like medicinal herbs.

We normally plant these pots up but the summer sun usually cooks the roots of the plants. So this year we parked 2 on the car port in part sun to see if they perform any better.

Another thing we are getting Isaac started with early is having him get used to being around large animals.

I’m a cow person. I’ve always been around cows. My family has had dairy cows for over 100 years. So he’s gonna need to be comfortable around them and needs to know how they can benefit a homestead in more than one way.
