The garden was very much neglected this year, but this just goes to show you that even if you don't have time to keep a perfect garden, its still worth the effort to plant! 🌱🌞

This horse!!!! She's 21, she rules this place, she's earned her keep, and she's a good girl, most of the time! Our yard is mostly fenced in, so we let her graze in the yard.... today she disappeared after a bit, so naturally I went searching, expecting to find her broken into feed somewhere.... but no! She was standing in the barn just looking out, waiting for me it seemed. And when I got closer, she walked out to me and this is what I see! 🤔🤣 I can only assume she was trying to rub her fly mask off and caught the rope halter instead. 🤦‍♀️
So I helped her out of both and back to grazing(and just looking gorgeous) she went! 🥰

Was definitely not planning this, but sometimes things just fall into place! I think this went from random scrolling to curious to interested to discussed to serious to delivered......in like 12 hours! 🤯

*Side note to add...the chicks and the ducklings in this video were all hatched within 2 days of eachother, some the same day! That gives you an idea how fast the ducks grow!!! 😳*
I'm sorry, I forgot to post an update on my broody birds!!! 🥰 Well, we ended up with 3 baby ducks and 5 chicks. All the babies follow any mama with the right fluff and cluck as the duck mama's gave up at the start of hatching, so the chicken took over! 🤣 Smoke Show, the rooster, has accepted them all and Blue, the drake, tolerates the ducklings *most* of the time! All is peaceful in the flock. And what a pretty little flock it is, if I do say so myself. 🤗

There is just not enough said about good horses!!!
This is a moment I caught between my daughter and the 21 year old mare I raised. It appears to just be a tender moment between a grumpy teen and a horse. But to me, I see this mare apologizing. Just a moment before, my daughter had fallen off this mare. Not because either of them did anything wrong, just the situation. My daughter had been in the middle of dismounting when a loud piece of equipment started behind them and the mare startled. She didn't take off or do anything crazy, she simply jogged a few steps, but the sudden change of pace caused my daughter to lose her balance and grip, resulting in a less than graceful dismount and probably a sore butt(hence the face! 🤣). But this mare has always been affectionate and aware of her people and she startled differently when my daughter fell....she immediately stopped and waited for her. When my daughter got back up and took hold of her reins again, my mare gently placed her head in my daughter's arms and just stood with her.
When people talk about their "heart horse" this is what I think of, and there could never be another that I love the way I love this mare!

We have had 4 birds sitting on eggs for what seemed like forever! I'd almost given up. The other day I decided to sell off like 13 birds....to make things easier on myself, and also my mom when she watches the farm in a couple weeks. But my birds had other ideas! So far, they have replaced 8 of the 13 I got rid of, with more than 5 eggs remaining as possibilities! 😳🤦‍♀️🤭 Luckily they are tiny and the mamas will be responsible for them for a while! Gotta love chicken math!!! (It obviously applies to ducks sometimes too!!!😂)

His first babies should be hitting the ground this summer. He wasnt supposed to have any this year, but now its looking like there will be 3 and I'm SO excited about it!!!! We are waiting very patiently(or impatiently......depending on who we're talking about!😉) 🥰
