The horses getting weaned onto the spring pasture

It’s that time of year again! Spring is in the air & our first batch of dandelion jelly is ready to go…

A light mixture that is the best combination of sweet & tart with a hint of lemon taste. It’s basically springtime in a jar. Goes great on toast, bagels, pancakes… can be added to yogurts & teas.
The options are many & oh so utterly delicious.

What sets our recipe apart? We only use fresh dandelions, picked on our farm & neighboring farms that do not treat their soil with fertilizers, pesticides or harsh chemicals.

We also use a special pectin mixture that allows us to use a considerable amount of less sugar in our recipes or substitute with local organic honey.

If you would like to purchase, we sell them in glass canning jars that are water bath canned for peak freshness. Once opened, place in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks of peak freshness.

First snowfall

So proud of our student on our lesson horse Leo.
It was her first time riding around the arena without being hooked to a leadline. She did fantastic. Working on our seat, keeping our heels down and riding into our bridle. Our focus here is on classic principles through centered riding.

Lots to learn but when you take your time and put all the pieces together, that’s when the magic happens. 💛

We are excited to welcome our new school pony Teddy! He is a 14hh grade quarter pony with the sweetest disposition! We are giving him some time to settle into his new home and role but looking forward to his bright future! 💛

This is especially fitting for today with it being the Kentucky Derby. 🐎

Our horse Leo’s grandsire was Seattle Slew who won the Triple Crown in 1977. Leo himself was a racehorse and after his career we purchased him and restarted him as a hunter/pleasure horse. Leo holds a very special place in owner Julia Coady’s heart. She owes everything to those special people that made sure Nearco was safe; enabling all these great Thoroughbreds to come ❤️

Equestrianism is so much more than just riding… Here at our farm we strive have our students become well rounded equestrians, with an emphasis of safety, respect and care of the horse. To supplement our riding lessons, we provide our students with a notebook. Each week they receive material and information as an addition to what they learn on the ground and in the saddle. ☺️
