💥Just want to post regarding biosecurity and holds on rabbits so that there's no confusion in the future💥

As far as biosecurity goes, NOBODY is allowed in my bunny barn except for my family or other approved persons (even they have to go through precautions and prevention before entering). If you feel the need to see the conditions in which my rabbits live in before owning a rabbit from me, I'll be more than happy to send pictures, videos, or even video chat if that gives needed reassurance. I understand this may sound harsh to some, but it truly protects the health and safety of my rabbitry, livestock guardian dog, and also your farm or rabbitry.

Now for holds, this has been and still is an issue, so im going to go ahead and address it and change the way things work here. From now on, I will not hold rabbits longer than 7 days. This does not include folks ive had conversations with about a litter that isnt weaned and ready to roll yet, obviously. This has mainly been an issue with new or random clientele. I dont mind to work with folks, as my time is pretty flexible. However, I will not reschedule more than once, and I will not hold for forever. I usually have a waiting list that I need to work through, as well as other rabbitry obligations, and id prefer to not waste or disrespect anybody's time, as well as have my time done that way. If I message you and say rabbits are ready to roll out and I dont hear back from you in 24 hours (especially if im left on read), i will move onto the next client. I do have regular folks or other rabbitries that ive built a relationship with and have learned over the years that some of yall aren't as flexible with your time. No worries, yall have proven that you will show up when you say you will, and I will continue to work with yalls schedule.

I appreciate everybody's continued support and understanding of the new rabbitry rules. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience, but my rabbitry is my main priority.

There’s more than one Starvation Ridge. The idea behind this name has been happening for centuries, on countless ridges, across the country. We work the land so hard for countless hours with a goal in mind; self sufficiency.

My grandfather, Alvin Enoch Efird, was a Green Beret in Vietnam and the Korean War. He was close to retiring and found 15 acres in 1974 with an old training barracks on it. He and my grandmother, along with my father, aunt and uncle as youngins, gutted the old home place on weekends coming out of Fort Jackson. My uncle who was grown at the time and already in the army would come help with land clearing. They used C4 to blast the stumps off of the original Starvation Ridge. If LivePD was around back then, the family would've been all over it in Richland County.

One weekend as the family was returning to the property to continue building their dream, Papaw says “just heading back to ole Starvation Ridge”, and the name stuck. Mom and dad still live in the old home place, and the sub floor still holds skid marks from dad and his brother raising cain on their dirt bikes.

I started this place doing the same thing they did, working during the week on a payroll just to work the land on the weekends. I just moved it from one side of Appalachia to the other.

In the spirit of the blood sweat and tears spilled for the original Starvation Ridge in Little Mountain, SC, my slice of heaven is from here on out dubbed the same. I know my Papaw would be so proud of what I've built here, and this is my way of honoring the family name and legacy.

Okay folks,

💥I know its been a long time since I've been in the swing of things due to personal reasons, but I have some BIG announcements.

🐾DOG TREATS ARE IN THE MAKING AGAIN!
Im almost at full swing with them, so I'll have them readily available soon. First batches are in the process of being made and getting ready for packaging right now. With that being said, I wont sell them on Etsy or ship them anymore. The cost of shipping and packaging is just unreasonable, so these will be local pickup only. Treats are only rabbit now since I no longer raise chickens. Ill pin a post to the top of the page for treat pricing.

🐇As far as rabbits go, I no longer raise New Zealands. I've upgraded to some HUGE bunnies, thanks to Red Door Rabbitry, and have started raising Tamuk composite meat rabbits. Yall, I'm talking 11 and 12lb does and 9+lb bucks! Im so grateful to be taking over her breeding program and continuing the hard work shes put into this stock. Between the two of us, we've put together a hell of a breeding program.

💬If anybody would like to go ahead and order dog treats, feel free to shoot me a message.

I've had some folks reach out, so just giving a quick update. I will be back in gear soon with chicks and rabbits. I apologize for any inconvenience. However, I do appreciate all those that have reached out, whether for business or just to check in. It's been quite the ride since last summer, and have been waiting for some closure on some personal issues.

There have been a few changes on livestock and availability. I only breed Brahma chickens now in a variety of colors. As far as rabbits, I still run New Zealands and have added Tamuks as well.

Thank yall again for the continued support!

‼️New Zealand Rabbits‼️

I will have enough to complete orders from folks I've already spoken to, maybe a couple extra. However, I just did my last round of breeding before the summer weather moves in. Always give my girls a break during the hot temps for their own health and wellbeing.

BIG thank you to everybody for the continued support! I've met some great folks this year and am excited for yall to start your own rabbitry to be self sufficient for meat 🐇

💥Brooder clean out coming soon!💥
Variety of colors of SEXED & OFF HEAT Brahmas. I will have some pullets that are not up to my quality set aside for cull unless anybody specifically asks for them. They will go at a lower price.

First batch of Brahmas hatching for this season 🐣 should be a good variety of colors 😍

💥I'll no longer be breeding French Wheaten Marans💥

Yall know me for my Brahmas, so I'll be working on a project color to take the place of the marans. Hopefully it turns out well 🤞
