We just wanted to give a little spotlight on our employee of the month! 😂 Makayla’s favorite farm activities include but are not limited to…. Fussing about the cold, writing tag numbers, drawing up medication, opening the gates in the rain, and complaining about hitting her head on the canopy of the tractor! We want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication! The cows would also like to say a big thank you! Congratulations on being the employee of the month and winning a free Valentine’s Day trip to the farm machinery show! 😂

After a few weeks of putting up hay, it was nice to have a slow evening of taking care of some calves and spraying for flies. Also a nice surprise this evening seeing a fresh calf on the ground out of one of the Charolais! Glad to have Makayla Skye along to take some pictures! (No calves where injured)

This past Tuesday we welcomed this little heifer into the world. I had left work early to take care of a few things and found this cow mid birth. We had been a little worried seeing as her first calf did not make it. But I’m happy to say her second calf is doing well and healthy. Even if she is definitely the smallest calf ever born here, for size comparison the panels are 6 foot and the 3rd run is maybe a foot and a half tall and she weighs less than a 50 pound bag of feed.

Haven’t posted in a while, but fall calves have been hitting the ground even with a set of twins! One twin had to be put on a bottle but he has been taken to North Buncombe High school for the students to take care of till he is ready to wean!

Excited to see how this guy turns out! Will be available as breeding bull when he is yearling age!
