Simple life = BEST life
We are looking for a self starting motivated teenager / young adult to work in our barn doing stable work to replace one who has been with us for the past 6 years. She will be missed a great deal but am wishing her the best as she starts her adulthood, recent marriage and new career in education.
Job duties include feeding horses, moving animals from barn to pastures and back, cleaning stalls and checking water tanks and buckets. You will be working with another person so must be able to get along with other people and have good communication and people skills.
The work usually takes about between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours and will have a regular schedule but must be available to work weekends. Times needed are Saturday morning / afternoon and Sunday afternoon. This is not backbreaking work but it is barn work. You will be outside, not in a climate controlled building. Must like working with horses and is a great part time situation for a student / young adult.
We are located in Greene county-- St. James area not far from Nolichuckey and South Greene High schools.
If you would like additional information message us with your phone number and we will talk further.
Thanks, David
We currently have one opening for full board at our stable in the southern part of Greene county.
Quality care, excellent instructors and a indoor arena. English or western riders welcome mares or geldings.
Contact us for additional information. David and Rebecca Olmstead.
There was a lady from middle Tennessee that asked if the saddle we have for sale is still available, the answer is yes. We got the inquiry and while trying to answer it disappeared. If you would contact us back it would be greatly appreciated.

Bobbi,my little tuxedo cat is missing. Could you please share. Will come get her anytime. Just call or text. Really miss her.
No party on Sunday because of weather. Was tentative anyway. Indoor arena will be closed on Saturday so David can work on footing.
I just drove down Jennifer Renee Crump Reaves driveway knowing it is the last time I will ever touch that wonderfully soft and sweet coat of a baby that has given so many people love and laughs. It was a brave battle by the coolest foal I have had the privilege to adore and it had to end on a stupid accident. Goodbye Gibbs. I know you are again running at Macs side.
Well I just received an expensive lesson on the meaning of the word assume. Drove to Lexington, KY today to pick up a couple of horses to bring them to TN for some customers, heading back home stopped in Corbin, KY to put fuel in the truck. Stopped at the BP station at the intersection of I-75 and Hwy 25E pulled up to the pump went in to pay the cashier came back to the pump picked up the Green nozzle and filled up the truck. 31 gallons of fuel later went in to get my change and a sandwich started the truck and left. About 50 yards later the truck died and I coasted to the side of the road, after some thought and working on the truck figured the truck wasn't getting fuel might be a clogged fuel filter even though I changed it about 15K ago. Got a number at the Autozone store in Corbin for a mobile mechanic in case I needed more help. Changed the filter still no luck, called the number talked to the guy was busy but said he would call a friend. This is getting long so I will shorten it very quickly. Went back to the service station and the green nozzle on the pump was gasoline and not Diesel looked at all the other pumps some of the Green handles nozzles were Diesel some were gas. So the tank will have to be drained, fuel system in the truck flushed and hope everything is ok. The moral of this story is never ASSUME that green is always diesel and be especially careful if you stop at this station in Corbin, Ky. Special thanks to the man in KY who stopped to help and move my trailer off the road and into the shade and to my good friend Ralph Wilson who made the 5 plus hour round trip to pick up Becky and I and our trailer with the horses
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. So fortunate to have so many great friends and caring family members
Footnote to Gibbs Day yesterday: While under the care of a stand-in caretaker to provide his medication (while Jennifer was at the sale) Gibbs refused the medicine, ran out of his stall, sprinted down the driveway and was finally apprehended at the neighbor's house and then returned home. Jennifer made the trip home to administer the antibiotic which he took without further incident. Good to know he feels so well. May need some lessons in proper horse behavior in the future. (Sorry we kind of spoiled him).
Thanks to everyone who donated and made purchases and donations at the barn sale for Gibbs yesterday. It was a huge success. We are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends in our lives.THANKS, THANKS AND THANKS.
