Come visit the farm! It smells wonderful this morning. The Grosso and Phenomenal are starting to open up and the culinary lavenders (Folgate, Hidecote, Buena Vista and Melissa) are all blooming!

Thank you all for coming out to see the farm and visit with us! These lovely people are part of our church family at East Side Baptist Church in Greeneville. The rain gave us a little time to take in some lavender beauty. So wonderful to see all of you!

We received about an inch of rain in the past 24 hours and the hills are “smoking” this morning. Our friend, Terry, asked for a picture of the labyrinth from the top of the hill by the house. Here is the view this morning. Let the mowing commence! We will open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week from 10am to 4 pm. We will be ready!

Every lavender bud contains a small well that holds the lavender oil. So small and seemingly insignificant. When thousands of them, tens of thousands or millions of the little buds are combined together the oil can be extracted and the tiny little wells release their stores. Collectively the oil is healing with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, supports restful sleep and relaxation, soothes headache and tension, and calms eczema, acne and itchy skin and provides relief from sunburn, mild thermal burn and bug bites. The scent freshens rooms and cars, can be used in skin care routines. It also is a natural degreaser and cleaner. Isn’t it lovely?
