Not sure how to celebrate mom for Mother’s Day??
Come check out our plant sale - in collaboration with the beautiful flower farm - Variegated Designs - and pick up what you need!

THIS SATURDAY ONLY! 10am-3pm

Huckleberry Farmstead will be featuring a variety of vegetable plant starts, as well as offering dehydrated chicken dog treats, whole, frozen chickens, fresh asparagus and juicy strawberries (while supplies last!)

Variegated Designs will have a wide selection of flower and herb plant starts to beautify your outdoor space with!

Be cool like my kid (pictured below) and come snag yourself some goodies before they’re gone!

Getting to chat with Olivia and Paul about our farm, where we’ve been and where we’re going was such a fun experience!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday week/weekend! Our family very much enjoyed the time together and it was the perfect reset we needed to be ready to get our chicks out to pasture!

If you haven’t started following Breaking New Roots make sure to!
Paul, Olivia, Lincoln and Sydney are some of our dearest friends and they are staying on our farm while they search for their forever property!
We are taking bartering to a whole new level with this one! They get a free place to stay, we get help on the farm, Olivia and I help each other out with the kiddos, Paul and Kent put up our hoop house. We all work in the garden and we all harvest food for our families. We go bowling and to Indians games in our free time and just enjoy the place we call home.

5 years ago when we moved here to start a farm I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect scenario presenting itself to us, and here we are ❤️

We’ve been busy at the farm this spring! But things are going far smoother than they have any previous year!
This is the first year that I have actually had space to enjoy the farm rather than feel exhausted by it!

Having farm friends on site with us this year and littles running around has made everything so much more special!

We had such a great turn out last Saturday for our plant sale and we will be open again tomorrow evening for anyone who wants to swing by after work!

Plus Huckleberry Farmstead will have farm fresh chicken, asparagus, radishes and eggs! We will also be featuring watercolor paintings by a local Indianapolis artist!

The number one reason we grow our own food? So I can pull something out of the ground and give it to my kiddo without a second thought!

There are trade-offs of course. Often times we have to turn down get togethers with family and friends, we work ALOT on preparing and maintaining our growing spaces and most of the time we just don’t have time to keep up with everything to make our place “look good”, but there is a freedom in it all that makes it worth it!

It’s asparagus season y’all!

We are all set up and ready for our Mother’s Day plant sale TOMORROW from 10am-3pm!!

Come out and pickup mom some locally grown vegetable/herb/flower starts for her garden or maybe some farm-fresh chicken, eggs and asparagus for your Mother’s Day get together!
