Our Neurologically challenged chicken. This poor girl was picked up by a raptor and dropped onto a barn roof where she sat in the snow for several hours until a neighbor saw her.
How we got her down is another story, but her neck was broken and her head flopped over completely (hence her new name “Floppy”). A few weeks in her own stall with a heat lamp and plenty of mealworms and she’s now a feisty bird. She runs in circles, gets lost, and sometimes can’t find her way back in, but when I pick her up to bring her back to the coop she gives me a loud squawk and a good peck so I know whose in charge. Yesterday she was following the other hens and ran headfirst into a fence post…looked back as if to say “ yeah, I meant to do that”
