Roaster apples started with the early yellow transparent. I still have some left if anyone is interested...$1.50/lb. These will only be available until Tuesday... They do not have a long shelf life.

RUN! Don't walk.... The last of the Battle Creek Orchard honey supply is stocked at Greenfield Mercantile until the end of August/early September!

Spent the weekend watering trees, chasing bees and watching NCAA softball while updating the orchard map. I think Deb is afraid we'll lose the map someday! It's on our phones, paper and the cloud.

We planted 30 new trees this year and while it will be a few years until they produce we now have 283 apples, 6 pear, 8 peach, 20 cherries and 3 kiwi.

And because bee math is REAL we are currently managing 19 hives of which 5 are caught swarms this spring. TBD how many more we will have.

What was that about slowing down?

Exciting things are happening in the orchard! Blooming has started and RB was wishing this was his new dog house, but it's NOT! While we wait, check out Greenfield Mercantile 's anniversary celebration this weekend!
