This week is bringing the rain back, unfortunately! Tomorrow morning is expected to be pretty wet, but it looks like we'll have a few clear hours in the afternoon. The animals may be a little muddy, and the grounds could be a bit messy too, but if you don't mind getting a little dirt on your boots and would still like to visit the farm, we'd love to see you! Friday is shaping up to be a much nicer end to the week. 😊

This week is shaping up to be a beautiful one! ☀️ The temperatures are warming up, the sun is shining, and the animals are excited to meet new friends!

Come spend some time on the farm getting hands-on with our animals. You can pet, groom, walk, and even help bathe some of them, then watch them kick up their heels and play around the arena!

This week’s weather has definitely been keeping us guessing! ☔ At first it looked like we might avoid most of the rain, but now the forecast is calling for showers on several days throughout the week.

If the weather changes — as crazy Indiana weather always does — we will still have open barn days! 🐴🐐🐰 However, if the forecast stays the same and we get the rain it’s calling for, open barn days will unfortunately have to be canceled this week due to the mud and mess.

We’ll continue to keep everyone updated throughout the week. 😊

Each day, kids will complete a simple activity sheet to help show what they’re learning about the animals and life on the farm. They’ll assist with animal feeding and care, light clean-up around the farm, and get the opportunity to walk and ride the horses.

Campers will also choose their favorite animal to work with throughout the week, practicing simple tricks and movements to prepare for a special animal show for parents on Friday, 06/26. 😊

We’ll have a fun craft each day as well! Campers will need to bring their own lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, and we’ll celebrate the last day with a pizza party provided on Friday! 🍕

Last Wednesday was such a great day at the farm! 💚We loved having our friends from DDSI back out— getting hands-on with the horses, getting to watch Domino and Sawyer transition from a walk to a trot to a canter, and then learning how to walk them around the arena and make them stop. It was such a fun and rewarding day for everyone!

This week has been a rainy one, so things might be a little muddy—but the good news is Wednesday and Friday are looking dry! 🙌

If you don’t mind a bit of mess, come spend some time at the farm! Our animals would love the extra snuggles and attention 💚

Animal of the Week: Buck 🐴💚

Buck is our 17-year-old lesson horse. He may be one of the biggest on the farm, but he’s also one of the gentlest. While he can be a little face shy, he absolutely loves having his neck scratched and will happily soak up all the attention there. 🥰

Buck came to us through one of our wonderful workers, who got him as a rescue and knew he would be a perfect fit for our farm—and she was right. He has become such a special part of our program and is loved by so many.

His all-time favorite treat? Fresh apples! 🍎

If you’d like to help support Buck, donations go toward his feed, care, and all the love he deserves. His care costs around $175 a month. 🤍

We’re finally getting a little break from the rain! 🙌 This Friday is looking cool, fresh, and mostly dry—the perfect day to come spend some time with your favorite farm animals 💚

Enjoy the fresh air, meet the animals, and slow down for a peaceful hour on the farm 🐄🌞
And once we get a stretch of warm, sunny days… bath day is coming! (always a fun one 🛁🐐)
